Mary's aspiration is to create her own 2-D and 3-D animated television programs for younger audiences. She intends to realize her vision to engage and educate her audience, fostering curiosity for new discoveries.
Mary DJ Rodriguez is a Bachelor of Fine Arts senior student at the School of Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). From an early age, Mary has demonstrated a distinctive motivation for 2-D animation. Prior to her enrollment at SAIC, she developed numerous short animation videos utilizing various software platforms. She conceptualized, copyrighted, and published her Rage Monsters story children's book series, envisioning and illustrating over 20 dragon monster characters that embody her inherent perspective on children and young adults in contemporary society. As a Presidential Scholar at SAIC, she has had the opportunity to cultivate her curiosity and vision, bringing her dragon characters to life through 2-D and 3-D animation using several software platforms including Procreate, Adobe After Effects, and Maya. Furthermore, she has developed proficiency in Dragon Frame for Stop Motion, Photoshop, and Adobe Bridge for photography. She has cultivated a unique perspective on perceiving the world and conveying her ideas through oil and acrylic abstract paintings to her audience. Mary DJ will be pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Animation in 2025.
Mary engages in art painting exhibitions, including the Annual Exhibit of the National Art Program at the University of Chicago Medicine and the bi-annual School of Art Institute of Chicago Art Sale. Mary curates a diverse collection of 2D and 3D animation on YouTube channels.
